Hubert Sielecki – 2006, 3:30 min, BetaSP, Austria

A movement towards another person starts and ends suddenly with the appearance of a sign. Then movement begins again. In numerous replays a self tries to change the patterns of seeing, hearing and movement in order to break away from the beaten track.

Born in 1946 in Carinthia, Austria, Hubert Sielecki, studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In 1975 Sielecki received a Scholarship at the Film University (Animation Film) and at the Art University (painting) in Lodz, Poland. Since then Sielecki has worked as a freelance artist: experimental colour photography; electronically, mechanically and acoustically reacting objects; environments; performances; posters without commercial purpose; old photographic techniques; music. Sielecki participated in a Lectorship for Experimental Animation Film at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna in collaboration with Maria Lassnig and Christian Ludwig Attersee. He was part of the founding of ASIFA AUSTRIA and the film production company ANIMOTION FILMS VIENNA.

Artists' Television Access is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer, artist-run, experimental media arts gallery that has been in operation since 1984.
