Tommy Becker – 2007, 10:38 min, MiniDV, San Francisco, CA

A series of three short poems set to music that attempt to bring light to states of being by inviting viewers into a journey through my personal computer.

Tommy Becker attended the San Francisco Art Institute as an undergraduate before receiving his MFA in New Media Arts from California College of Arts in 2001 where he was awarded, “The All College Honor Award.” Currently, Becker is continuing work on, “TAPE NUMBER ONE”, a mutating construction of sentimental vignettes that uses design. Often, Becker’s single channel works are translated to live performance. In 2005, he was awarded an artist in residency at Headland Center for the Arts, Marin and included in Bay Area Now at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. His work has been presented at White Columns, New York; Pacific Film Archive; Art in General, New York; and The San Francisco Independent Film Festival.

Artists' Television Access is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer, artist-run, experimental media arts gallery that has been in operation since 1984. ATA hosts a series of film and video screenings, exhibitions and performances by emerging and established artists and a weekly cable access television program.
