Sahar Mozaffar - Mini DV  Experimental  2006   1:30 min   San Francisco, CA

Myth #7 is a conceptual investigation into the construction of personal memory. The piece pivots on the use of gesture, portrayed by an anonymous character to convey the fabrication of a relationship. The use of the body in relation to architectural space unites both gesture and the attempted construction of a generic memory. The meaning of memory is found in the mood of the piece, but the fragmented chronology of the piece, using a combination of sound and visuals assert an obvious author. Thus, critiquing the social position of “remembrance”. The purposeful hiding of meaning allows the audience to potentially construct their own experience in the work. It does not seek to inform the viewer of a particular understanding but allows multifaceted reading to occur.
